Sports Therapist for Runners in London

Running injury stopping you training properly?

I help runners in London reduce pain, understand what is causing the issue, and build a clear plan to keep running where possible.

I’m a Sports Therapist with additional training in Functional Biomechanics of Running, which means your session looks at more than just where it hurts.

We look at your strength, movement, training load, running demands, previous injuries, and symptoms to work out what is most likely driving the problem.

I work with runners from Couch to 5K through to competitive and elite level, helping with issues such as Achilles pain, shin splints, runner’s knee, calf pain, hip pain, and recurring niggles.

Based near Oxford Circus and Marylebone, Central London.

Why runners book with TB Sports Therapy

  • Additional training in Functional Biomechanics of Running

  • Experience helping runners from beginner to competitive level

  • Running-specific assessment, not generic rehab

  • Treatment room plus gym space for strength and movement testing

  • Clear rehab plan delivered through an app

  • Central London clinic near Oxford Circus

The aim is simple.

Find out what is causing the issue, reduce pain where possible, and give you a plan that helps you keep moving forward.

This is for you if:

  • You get pain during or after running

  • You have a race coming up and do not know whether to rest

  • You have tried exercises, but the issue keeps coming back

  • You are increasing distance or speed and your body is not coping

  • You want to keep training without making things worse

  • You want a clear plan instead of guesswork

You do not need to wait until you cannot run.

The earlier you get assessed, the easier it usually is to manage the issue and avoid a longer lay-off.

Struggling with a running injury?

Many runners are told to stop running completely.

Sometimes rest is needed, but often the better answer is to adjust the load, build strength, treat the irritated area, and return gradually with a clear plan.

Common problems I help with include:

  • Shin splints

  • Achilles pain

  • Runner’s knee

  • Calf strains

  • Hip pain

  • IT band pain

  • Plantar heel pain

  • Recurring training niggles

  • Marathon training injuries

If you are not sure what the issue is, that is exactly what the assessment is for.

How your first session works

Your first session is built around understanding your injury and your running.

It includes:

  • A detailed chat about your symptoms and training

  • Review of recent running load, races, footwear, gym work, and previous injuries

  • Strength and movement testing

  • Running-specific clinical assessment

  • Hands-on treatment where useful

  • Clear explanation of what is most likely causing your pain

  • Rehab plan delivered through an app

  • Return-to-running advice based on your goal

You leave knowing what to do next, what to avoid, and how to start progressing.

Book Your Running Assessment

60-minute Running Injury Assessment & Treatment — £100

This session is for runners who want to reduce pain, understand the cause of their injury, and get a clear plan to return to training.

It is ideal if you are dealing with:

  • Achilles pain

  • Shin splints

  • Knee pain

  • Calf issues

  • Hip pain

  • Foot pain

  • Recurring running injuries

  • Race build-up niggles

What makes this different?

This is not just a quick massage or a list of exercises.

Your session looks at the bigger picture:

  • Why the pain may have started

  • What is keeping it irritated

  • Whether you need to reduce, modify, or pause running

  • What strength work you need

  • How to return to running without repeating the same cycle

  • What to do if you have a race coming up

The goal is to help you train smarter, recover properly, and reduce the risk of the same issue coming back.

What runners often get wrong

A lot of runners wait too long before getting help.

They rest until the pain settles, try running again, then the same issue returns.

That usually happens because the painful area has calmed down, but the reason it became overloaded has not been addressed.

A proper assessment helps identify what needs to change.

That could be strength, load management, recovery, running technique, mobility, or a previous injury that never fully recovered.

FAQs

Should I stop running with pain?

Not always. Some running injuries need rest, but many can be managed by adjusting your training load and building a structured rehab plan. The assessment will help work out what is appropriate for you.

Can you help if I have a race coming up?

Yes. The focus will be on managing symptoms, protecting the injury, and keeping you as prepared as possible. This may include changing your running volume, adjusting sessions, adding rehab, and planning your return carefully.

Do I need a scan before booking?

No. Most running injuries can be assessed clinically. If anything suggests you need imaging or GP referral, this will be discussed during the session.

Will I get exercises to do at home?

Yes. You will receive a clear rehab plan through an app, so you know exactly what to do between sessions.

Do you only work with experienced runners?

No. I work with runners from Couch to 5K through to competitive and elite level. You do not need to be fast or experienced to book.

Can you help if I am not sure what injury I have?

Yes. You do not need to know the diagnosis before booking. The assessment is designed to work out what is most likely causing your pain and what you need to do next.

Ready to get back to running properly?

If running pain keeps coming back, do not keep guessing. Get assessed, understand the cause, and leave with a clear plan.
